Same V8, same chassis, two extra doors, and consistently less money than the coupe.

The Case for the E90 M3 Sedan

The E9x M3 came as a coupe, a convertible and a sedan. The coupe gets the attention and the carbon roof. The sedan gets the discount.

What you give up

The carbon fibre roof, roughly nothing in the way of driving dynamics, and a small amount of visual drama. The sedan is marginally heavier and rides very slightly softer.

What you gain

Rear doors, better rear-seat access, and typically ten to fifteen percent off the coupe price for an equivalent car. In the US the sedan was also built in far smaller numbers, which is a rarity argument the market has not yet priced in.

Buying notes

Same S65 considerations apply: rod bearings, throttle actuators, and evidence of frequent oil changes. Competition Package cars carry a modest premium and are worth seeking out.
