The Manual F10 M5 Is a North American Unicorn

The story is well known in enthusiast circles and still surprises people outside them: the most powerful M5 ever offered with three pedals was a North American exclusive.

The numbers

Manual take-up on the F10 M5 was in the low single-digit percentages. Precise figures vary by source but the total is measured in hundreds of cars, not thousands.

What it is like

The gearbox is not a delicate instrument. The shift is long and deliberate and the clutch is heavy, and pairing it with 560 horsepower and enormous turbocharged torque produces a car that feels far more mechanical than its dual-clutch sibling.

Values

Manual F10 M5s now command a substantial premium and are increasingly difficult to find in good colours. Interlagos Blue over Silverstone is the specification collectors chase.
