BMW E71 X6 M — 2010–2014

The X6 M shares everything mechanically with the E70 X5 M: the S63 twin-turbo V8, the six-speed automatic, the active rear differential and the all-wheel-drive system. What it adds is a sloping roofline and a more aggressive stance.

In practice the X6 M drives essentially identically to the X5 M, with slightly less usable rear space and a slightly lower centre of gravity. Which one you buy is a styling decision.

The same early S63 maintenance profile applies, and the same advice: buy the documented car, not the cheap one.
