BMW F82 M4 GTS
Water injection, a titanium exhaust, carbon everything and a 7:28 Nürburgring lap. The most extreme S55 BMW built.

The GTS is the F82 taken to its limit: water injection to cool the charge air and allow more boost, a titanium exhaust, carbon fibre bonnet, roof and driveshaft, manually adjustable coilovers, a rear roll cage and Michelin Cup 2 tires as standard.
Just 700 were built worldwide, 300 for the United States. It is a track car with plates — stiff, loud, and stripped, with orange accents that make it instantly identifiable.
Ownership is niche. The water injection system needs its tank filled and its pump cared for, and the car is genuinely uncomfortable on bad roads. As an investment and as a track weapon, it works.

Pre-purchase inspection checklist

Modifications for longevity
- Water injection care
Distilled water only, keep the tank topped, exercise the system regularly.
- Crank hub pinning
Standard preventive work on any GTS being used hard.
- Cooling and oil
Track use demands short oil intervals and a healthy cooling stack.
- Storage discipline
Battery tender, dry storage, tire pressures maintained to prevent flat-spotting.
- Carbon protection
Paint protection film on the splitter and bonnet leading edge.
Modifications for performance

Originality drives value on a 700-car run.
- 02Tires and alignment
Fresh Cup 2s and a track alignment; the coilovers are already adjustable.
- 03Tune
530–560 hp is achievable, but weigh it against collector value and warranty.
- 04Track prep
High-temp fluid, brake ducting and a proper cool-down routine matter more than power.
What they are worth
GTS values held above original MSRP for most of their life and remain firm. Mileage, colour of accents (all the same) and documentation of track use are the main variables.
US cars are the scarcest; a low-mileage, never-tracked example with full history sits at the top of the market.
